Abstract

The method described is based on emission-absorption of thermal radiation in the near infrared. It allows the determination of local temperatures rather than an average temperature integrated along aiming line of the pyrometer. The particles and gas temperature radial fields in a semi-industrial pulverized coal flame have been established. These particles and gas temperature profiles exhibit the same shape but particles temperatures are about 100 C higher than gas temperatures.
