Dufour, R. J. ; Talent, D. L. Abstract Quantitative spectrophotometry of emission lines in the 3650-7100 A spectral region for a stellar planetary nebula in the Local Group irregular galaxy NGC 6822 is presented. The spectrum is characterized by strong O III forbidden and He II lines in the blue similar to high excitation galactic PN and unexpectedly strong N II forbidden lines in the red. The electron temperature was derived from the auroral and nebular O III forbidden lines to be 18,500 plus or minus 1200 K for an assumed density of 10,000 per cu cm. The N/O ratio of approximately 5 is the highest known in a planetary nebula. The N/H and N/O ratios in the nebula are both over two orders of magnitude larger than found in the H II regions of NGC 6822. Evidence is presented that most of the N nucleosynthesis in the nebula was the result of primary rather than secondary processes.
