Abstract

The applicatiliby of the extractive spectrophotometric method using three different cationic dyes as the chromogenic reagent for indentification and quantification of anionic surfactants in aqueous solutions and environmental samples was comparatively investigated. The inteferences due to the ions Cl−, NO3 −, Ca++, Mg++ and Fe3+ were examined as well as the effect of pH. The recoveries ranged from 95 to 104% for sea water samples.
