Abstract
The determination of La and Sc in standard granite Gl was carried out by the method of addition. The confidence limits of the unknown concentration obtained with two sets of two additions were compared with the limits obtained with a single addition and were found to be of the same order of magnitude. In geological work, a single addition may often be sufficient for relatively rapid semiquantitative determinations.
