Abstract

We study theoretically how excitons created near the indirect exciton band bottom relax through the multiple scattering by acoustic phonons and a non-radiative decay process, and how the exciton relaxation is reflected in the secondary emission. The consistent interpretation is obtained of the excitation spectrum of Raman scattering and the spectral structure of hot luminescence observed in AgBr.
