Abstract

Optical and photoelectrical properties of fullerene (C60) doped thin films of Poly (3-hexylthiophene 2, 5 diyl) (P3HT) were studied. Optical studies were done on P3HT thin films in the range 300 nm-700 nm. Absorption quenching, blue shift, narrowing of band gap and increase in spectral range were observed with addition of C60 to P3HT. Photoelectrical studies were done by noting the change in resistance with exposure to light in P3HT films which indicates their sensitivity to light. For P3HT:C60 blend film, it was found that responsivity was 12.4 µA/W with green color filter, making it useful for color sensing applications.
