Abstract

The solid solutions with the perovskite structure of the composition La1-xSrxYO3-δ (δ-nonstoichiometry) have been synthesized using the conventional ceramic technology methods. Their vibrational (IR, Raman), excitation, photo and X-ray luminescence spectra have been studied. The oxygen vacancies in the lattice were found to affect the vibrations of La-O, Y-O and Y-O-Y bonds. Intrinsic photo and X-ray luminescence of samples, as well as luminescence of optical centers formed by SrO12-n polyhedra as a result of Sr2+ for La3+ substitution in LaO12 polyhedra have been investigated at 300 K. The luminescence of these optical centers is due to the charge transfer processes in SrO12-n groups. When x increases, the maximum of the intrinsic luminescence band shifts towards higher energies, while the maximum of the luminescence band of SrO12-n group shifts towards smaller energies.
