Abstract

Full wave analysis based on the spectral domain technique is applied to analyze superconducting (YBCO) rectangular microstrip resonators with a strip thickness comparable to the penetration depth on a lossy dielectric substrate. The complex frequency concept is used to derive the actual resonant frequency and the quality factor of the resonator. Numerical results for the resonant frequency and the Q-factor as a function of the temperature and the resonator length are obtained and presented for comparison with other published data. The comparison with the experimental data has shown a reasonable agreement with the theoretical study, which confirms the validity of the solution. >
