Abstract

The Wave Action Standard History (WASH) Working Group is making steady progress in the establishment of standard load histories for fatigue testing relevant to tubular structures in the North Sea. This paper describes some recent work carried out in support of the WASH Working Group. The basic steps needed for the construction of a set of standard load histories have already been described. Available spectral density functions for North Sea platforms were analysed and recommendations are made for the incorporation of appropriate spectral density functions within the WASH framework. Some related matters are also discussed.
