Abstract
We present an exhaustive description of the spectral content from the signal measured in a pump probe experiment devoted to Kerr-like third-order non-linearities. We demonstrate that encountered behavior depends on the experimental detection set-up, namely a transmission or a polarization measurement. Processes at the origin of the spectral changes are also linked to the specific non-linearities involved.
