Abstract
Spectral analysis is applied firstly to an artificial time series to illustrate the technique. This is further exemplified by an analysis of migratory and locomotory behaviour in Teleogryllus commodus. A biological rhythm with a number of harmonics which were not apparent on visual examination of the experimental data, are revealed by the method.
