Abstract

In this paper, we present a spectral analysis of a surface plasmon resonance sensor (SPR) by the Periodic Green Function (PGF). The SPR sensor is in the Surface Plasmon Coupled Emission (SPCE) configuration, and it is coupled to a planar array of gold nanoparticles (AuNps) of core-shell type. These AuNps are represented by a periodic array of nanodipoles, and the PGF of the problem is obtained by the two-dimensional complex Fourier series. We performed a parametric analysis of the influence of AuNps concentration on the electromagnetic fields, and the generalized reflection and transmission coefficients, in the spectral domain. Also, the surface wave and surface plasmon polariton poles are investigated. Finally, some discussions about the convergence of the PGF series are presented.
