Abstract
The problem of spectral analysis and synthesis is studied in the space C ∞ ( X) of smooth functions on symmetric space X of noncompact type and of rank one. One proves that the spectral analysis and synthesis hold for those invariant subspaces of C ∞( X) whose spectrum does not contain the zeroes of the Harish-Chandra function c.
