Abstract
We have used the transfer matrix (T-matrix) method to calculate the transmission and reflection spectra of a one-dimensional photonic crystal structure with a metallic nanoparticle monolayer insert. We have studied the influence of the monolayer parameters and position on the defect modes for the photonic structure.
