Abstract
The main aim of this research is to explore the theoretical and practical aspects of translating German legal contracts to identify theoretical and practical problems arising in this process, as well as to analyze the peculiarities of German legal documents. Taken together, theoretical and practical problems in translating legal texts pose a significant challenge for translators and require a deep understanding not only of language but also of legal terminology, cultural nuances, and contextual differences between legal systems. Translating legal texts is often associated with great responsibility, as even the slightest inaccuracy or misunderstanding can have serious consequences for the parties entering into agreements or using legal documents. This places upon the translator the task not only of conveying linguistic content but also of preserving the accuracy and legal correctness of the translation. Developing recommendations for improving the quality of translation of German legal contracts and adapting them to the requirements of international standards is an important task of the research. This may include the development of specialized translation techniques, enhancing translators' qualifications, and establishing quality standards in this field.
