M. Specificity and functions of a dance as a component of syncretic “mousikē” art of the Ancient world. Domestic art criticism pays much attention to the problems of dancing functioning in contemporary culture; periodicals publish theoretical and methodological works, general critical reviews of ballet performances. The purpose of this study is to identify the peculiarities of dancing art development in the ancient world, its functions and the influence of dancing on the development of “mousikē” creativity of the Antiquity.
