Abstract

The article deals with the notion of "cultural heritage" and "musical heritage" in the context of training the future teachers of musical art as the translators of universal values. The interest in the issue of cultural heritage in public, scientific and educational circles is lasting and persistent. But the scientific problem of understanding the role and use of cultural heritage in the upbringing of the younger generation remains controversial.The article analyzes the experience of international activity of the United Nations, UNESCO, the Council of Europe and the Ukrainian authorities for conservation the cultural heritage. It has been named the basic documents defining international policy and cooperation on this problem. Some of the most common definitions of cultural heritage are presented. Particular attention is paid to the classification of cultural heritage types and the differences between scientific approaches to this issue that have evolved over time.On this basis, an attempt was made to define the notion of musical heritage, to highlight its specificity in aspects of personal perception of musical art, professional music education and contemporary trends in musical education. In particular, features of the introduction of the musical heritage in the teaching and educational process of educational institutions are determined, where the future musicians-professionals, as well as teachers of musical art for secondary schools, are trained.The article concludes that the transmission of musical heritage takes place in several directions at the same time, through professional channels and through the community, at the levels of state, scientific, educational, public programs. Musical heritage is a complex phenomenon. Its perception and understanding are built on the interaction of people, through conscious learning, through the daily experience that is internalized by a person and opens up to other people. Musical heritage is formed and constantly changed, enriched through personal experience and social behavior.
