Abstract This report gives a specification format for surface preparation and material application for industrial maintenance painting for a chemical company. Topics covered include the condensed specification method, surface preparation, pretreatment, material application, material description, comparison of proposed code system with typical present method, painting specifications, painting schedules and standards of inspection.
