Abstract

High resolution specific heat measurements have been performed on K 0.3MoO 3 and K 0.15Tl 0.15MoO 3 in the temperature region between 90 and 220K. Specific heat anomalies are observed at 178K and 164.8K for K 0.3MoO 3 and K 0.15Tl 0.15MoO 3 respectively. The specific heat jump, entropy and enthalpy changes associated with the CDW phase transition are estimated. The results suggest that perfect order of K polyhedral chains is important for the phase transition of K blue bronze.
