Abstract

The lattice specific heat of Tl-based superconductors has been investigated using a Born lattice-dynamical model. The specific-heat function reveals a temperature dependence that is quite far from a ${\mathit{T}}^{3}$ one. This brings into question the reliability of the magnitudes and temperature dependence of the various non-lattice-contributions extracted assuming a ${\mathit{T}}^{3}$ lattice-specific-heat contribution, from the analysis of the measured total specific heat.
