Abstract

The mechanisms of radiation brittleness and the microstructure of deformed stainless steels, such as EP-450 ferritic-martensitic steel EI-852 and ferritic steel, irradiated to doses of 10–100 dpa are investigated by the method of imitation of the effect of reactor irradiation with the help of accelerators of charged particles. The specific features of the development of the processes of plastic instability and crack initiation are established. The accumulated results are compared with the results obtained for the austenitic steel irradiated and deformed under similar conditions.
