Abstract

The extraction of specific emitter characteristics is the crucial factor and foundation of implementation of specific emitter identification technology. This paper provides one method for extraction of specific emitter characteristics based on intra-pulse instantaneous frequency, and validates the coherence and distinguishability of intra-pulse instantaneous frequency characteristics of specific emitter by field test data. The test results indicate that instantaneous frequency characteristics of specific emitter can be successfully extracted from pulse compressed signal, including both linear frequency modulated pulse signal and non-linear frequency modulated pulse signal, and specific emitter identification can be achieved for such kinds of emitters, which shows the potential of instantaneous frequency characteristics of specific emitter becoming one important dimension of specific emitter characteristics space.
