Abstract
1. The influence of host-plant category, host larval feeding site and host pupation site on the species richness and structure of the parasitoid complexes of tortricoid hosts (Lepidoptera: Tortricoidea) was examined using data from the published literature. 2. Parasitoid species richness remained almost constant across host-plant categories with no evidence of increased richness with host-plant size and no differential representation of parasitoid lifestyles (generalists vs. specialists) in relation to host-plant category. 3. Host larval feeding site has a major influence on parasitoid species richness and accounts for 36.2% of the variation in number of parasitoid species per host among conifer-feeding hosts
