Abstract
1. 1. Cytosolic glutathione S-transferase activities were compared in tissues from various Mus musculus strains and Australian native rodents. 2. 2. Considerable variation was found with desert species tending to have higher activity than non-desert species. 3. 3. Chromatographic analysis on CM-cellulose showed that the elution profile of the liver enzymes is quite different for M. musculus and Notomys alexis. 4. 4. Tissue glutathione levels are generally higher in M. musculus than in N. alexis.
