Abstract
A purpose-built high tech machining solution developed by Furmanite has successfully repaired a 5.5m diameter pump-turbine unit at Dinorwig power station in North Wales — one of Europe's largest pumped storage power stations. The achievement avoided the need for an extended shutdown and ensured that no generating time was lost.
