Abstract

Abstract Special problems associated with ultrasonic wave propagation in anisotropic materials are discussed. Included in the treatment are modes of propagation, energy flux deviation, diffraction beam spreading, and th6 influence of non-linear effects. Comments will be made with respect to the possibility of successfully implementing ultrasonic tomographic imaging in anisotropic materials.
