Abstract
Graphical Abstract Happy 150th Birthday GDCh, with best wishes from Chemistry—A European Journal and ChemPubSoc Europe! To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh; German Chemical Society) we have put together a special issue that contains papers by top German research groups. The issue has been timed to appear in conjunction with the GDCh Wissenschaftsforum Chemie 2017 Jubiläumskongress “GDCh—150 Jahre” (WiFo2017; GDCh Scientific Forum Chemistry 2017—Anniversary Congress “GDCh—150 years”). The cover itself is a collage of past cover pictures of Chemistry—A European Journal published by many of the groups featured in this special issue.
