Abstract

The cobalt melt migration process, which takes place between mesoelements and the hard alloy matrix in the liquid-phase formation of the structure of a WC-Co mesocomposition, has been described. It has been found that the motive force of the process is the migration pressure gradient and that the volumes of mesoelements and matrix vary in the course of the migration, thus affecting the cobalt melt distribution.
