Abstract

The processes of mechanized surfacing of heat- and wear-resistant intermetallic alloys of the iron–aluminium system is investigated. It is shown that arc surfacing with spray transfer of aluminium results in a stable process and the chemical composition of the deposited layer and a shorter surfacing time. To produce the deposited layer with the optimum chemical composition and service properties, it is proposed to deposit initially aluminium and then the steel electrode wire.
