Abstract

The results of the C* -integral calculation, which is used for mechanical loading cases, are compared to finite eelement calculation results for various types of specimens. A design analysis of the crack-tip stress state has been carried out for force and kinematic boundary conditions in creep and stress relaxation. The C* -integral has been calculated for the same conditions. Based on the present investigations, an engineering method is put forward which permits calculating the C* -integral for both force and kinematic boundary conditions as well as for thermomechanical loading.
