Abstract

The rapid development of the private economy in China stemmed largely from the utilization of the country's vast labor resources, its huge market, and the flexibility of the private sector itself. This is not the whole story, however. A comprehensive analysis of the reform reveals that other factors help bring about the enormous growth and prosperity produced by the Chinese private economy.
