Abstract
During the two months between the opening of the present session of Parliament and the Christmas recess, questions about the effects of the 1988 Education Reform Act on children and young people with special educational needs were more numerous than previously in the House of Commons. Many of them came from Mr Gerry Steinberg, Labour MP for City of Durham, former special school headmaster, who has been active on Parliamentary committees related to special educational needs.
