Abstract
A cryostat for Mössbauer effect measurements after 4 K high dose neutron irradiation without warming up of the samples between irradiation and measurement is described. This makes it possible to investigate irradiation defects in the as-produced state with the Mössbauer effect. The cryostat can be cooled independently of the low temperature irradiation facility. The irradiated sample can be used as a Mössbauer source or absorber.
