Abstract

In this paper, we consider channel estimation and identification problem for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) finite impulse response (FIR) system based on second order statistics (SOS) only. By assigning different block-precoders to different transmitters, we develop two simple techniques that allows blind MIMO channel identification up to a scalar ambiguity for each transmitter. A special design of precoders is developed by which the performance accuracy of both algorithms can be dramatically improved. The results of computer simulations clearly show the effectiveness of our proposed algorithms.
