Abstract

We obtain spatiotemporal optical solitons in a dual-core waveguide amplifier with inter modal dispersion, which can be described by a (3+1)-dimensional generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation with modulated coefficients and a varying source. Two types of specific media of physical interest are considered to show the propagation behaviors of solutions. We find that the structures of these spatiotemporal optical soliton solutions can be controlled by tuning the dispersion, nonlinearity, gain, and the source parameters.
