Abstract

Linear system identification methods based on Laplace transforms and Pade' approximations are used to determine the spatio-temporal responses of a Venlo glasshouse to gaseous enrichment. It is shown that the method for distributing CO 2 in the glasshouse by using a low level ring main with a distribution pipe along the crop rows is adequate for uniform mixing. The analysis also indicates the maximum rate at which the CO 2 set point can be updated dynamically for the proper execution of on-line optimal control of CO 2 .
