Research results indicate that there has been significant changes these factors in three different time periods in Baku. The three distinctive time periods used in this study are the years from 1920 to 1950, 1950 to 1990 and 1990 to present day. This study aims to investigate the spatial and visual transformation of the multistory residential buildings in Baku during the aforementioned three time periods. Method: A total of thirteen multistory buildings, five buildings from the first two time periods and three buildings in the final time period, which reflect the characteristics of their time period, have been selected and evaluated in terms of their visual and spatial aspects. Findings: In the light of the case studies on selected buildings, transformation of spatial and visual aspects of multistory buildings in Baku have been evaluated for each selected time period. Conclusions: A number of distinctions have been identified for each study period in terms of the size of spaces, relationships between the spaces and the design of the facades.
