Abstract

Abstract The self-pumped phase-conjugate mirrors (SPPCM) recorded by a single beam incident in photorefractive Bi 12 TiO 20 crystals without external mirror under alternating electric field are presented. Simultaneously with the phase-conjugated wave we observe significant concentration of the scattered light on the direction of the subharmonics generation. This combined formation of the fundamental grating and its spatial subharmonics allows SPPCM formation in a much wider band of spatial frequency.
