Abstract

Two tables, representing simple circular functions with two variables are introduced which enable us to translate the Cartesian coordinates x, y, and z, given in plane projections, directly into spherical coordinates without numerical computation. This makes it possible to determine the spatial vector without the aid of a mechanical device even if the numerical value of the AP axis is not given, as in the case of the transitional pathway method used by Grant and others.
