Abstract

In this letter, we derive a closed-form expression for the pairwise error probability (PEP) in spatial multiplexing multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. The wireless MIMO channel is assumed to be a Rayleigh flat fading channel subject to an additive white generalized Gaussian noise. The PEP is then used to evaluate the average bit error rate of the system assuming that a minimum distance detector is employed. Numerical results and Monte Carlo simulations are provided to validate the accuracy of the conducted analytical derivations.
