Abstract

Spatial Movemont, the vital ingredient of life is as old as the human history itself. Man prefers to be in a place which makes him most oomfortable though at times he may be forced to shift and move to snother place due to hostile environment in terms of discrimination arcity of means, under employment or with a hope to improve ones earning capacity. Spatial mobility projected through migration is a movement of people from one dwelling place to another and involves several other components like 'space-content and 'space relations' of an area (Gosal, 1961). It is believed that migration wotks for cultural diffusion and social integration (Bogue, 1959). Further, migration brings certain changes in the way of life, in the metabolism and mentality of the migrant Migration also contributes, to over-crowding. Migration refers to the mobility of people from one place of abode to another with the above characteristics due to economic, social, and political reasons. Commonly, the classification of migration is based on time, distance and motivation The purpose of the paper is to critically examine some of the issues related with the process of migration, crowding and perpetuation to stress, and study the support system and network relations of migrants and non-migrants In contemporary society there is a great concern wit h the problems related to over population, industrialisation, urbanisation, and pollution. This concern has brought special interest in the area of crowding and buman behaviour.
