Abstract

The desorption of CO 2 produced by the interaction of oxygen adatoms and CO admolecules on Pd(100) was studied with angle-resolved thermal desorption. The spectra of CO 2 formation showed four peaks; P 1- (around 380 K), P 2- (∼ 325 K), P 3- (∼ 260 K), and P 4-CO 2 (∼ 220 K). Each CO 2 desorption showed a different angular distribution. The distribution is sharply collimated normal to the surface and isotropic with respect to the crystal azimuth.
