Abstract
Fuzzy logic systems have played significant role in computer information system, specifically in quality, reliability and safety of databases and information retrieval. This work deals with theory of spatial databases, spatial data infrastructure and automated map generalizations in multi scale map spaces. We put forward the definitions of spatial similarity relation in automated map generalizations in the light of fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic. Then we present the properties of fuzzy spatial similarity relations. Finally a theoretical model is presented and discussed in details. This work may benefit the theory of automated map generalization, spatial reasoning, spatial data analysis and information retrieval.
