Abstract

For an exactly solvable model the electronic structure and spatial probability distribution of a two-dimensional parabolic quantum dot with two interacting electrons in a magnetic field is calculated. As a consequence of the interplay between electron-electron interaction and magnetic field it is shown that electron spatial correlation presents a discontinuous variation as a function of the cyclotron to harmonic frequency ratio. Physical consequences of this fact are analysed.
