Abstract

Based on the classical radiation theory, the spatial and spectral characteristics of linear scattering with linearly polarized few-cycle pulses have been obtained. Most of the radiation is sharply centered in the backward direction. The research results show that the shorter the duration of the few-cycle pulse is, the wider the backward scattering spectrum, the bigger backward scattered central frequency of the spectrum and the weaker intensity of the spectrum are. It is discovered that the influence of the initial phase on the spectrum of the radiation is apparent for low and high frequency of the spectrum, but there is no influence of the central part of the spectrum.
