Abstract

In this paper, a computational model has been introduced to evaluate the disturbance caused by the feed spillover in Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR). It is based on the far-field approximation. The total field has been computed by adding the simulated feed radiation field and the existed field of the desired plane wave. By using Fourier transform with a Kaiser window, the Plane Wave Spectrum (PWS) of the spatial field is obtained. Ripples and interference waves caused by the feed spillover can be observed in the spatial and angular domains respectively. The characteristics of the disturbance summarized from the spatial and angular domain analyses are presented. With the aid of this method, estimation and suppression of the feed spillover disturbance could be achieved in the design process of CATR.
