Abstract

In this paper, we propose a target localization method with frequency diverse array (FDA) multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) radar in sparse signal reconstruction perspective. We jointly use sparsity reconstruction method and FDA transmitting array. The essence of the proposed technique is to formulate the problem of angle and range estimation using sparsity enforced reconstruction method with FDA MIMO radar. And one type of sparse reconstruction methods, the convex relaxation method, is considered. By implementing numerical experiments, we demonstrate that our proposed method can fully utilize the range-independent directivity created by FDA transmitting array and also outperform the conventional MUSIC method.
