Abstract

This article focuses on the role of the university and the student movement against Franco in the fight for democracy in Spain since the 60s, framed in cultural dynamic ( Beat Generation ) and international politics ( Third Wave ). It analyzes the role of the university youth, the opposition political parties, the process of democratizing university and - by extension - the country, concluding with an explanation of the causes of demobilization after 1977.
