Abstract

The article deals with an important topic from the history of the foreign occupation of Morocco, the issue of agricultural settlement formed the basis on which the colonial project was based in the region, as the colonizer could not continue to occupy and exploit the wealth of Morocco without settling the land, so the beginnings of colonialism were the confiscation of the lands of the people and their distribution to European settlers, to make the biggest transformation in agricultural structures, the real landowners were no longer so after the entry of the colonizer, and the matter is that the land will not be returned to them after independence, but handed over to new owners, which The greatest transformation in the economic and social history of Morocco, and to understand the subject more, we will study the case of the Kart plain in the eastern Moroccan countryside, as a model for Spanish agricultural settlement, and the manifestations of this still exist today.
