Abstract

Many multiscale processes vary over multiple space and time scales. These space and time scales are often tightly coupled. For example, flow processes in porous media can occur on multiple time scales over multiple spatial scales and these scales can be non-separable. In many applications, the heterogeneities change due to the time can be significant and it needs to be taken into account in reduced-order models. In this chapter, we discuss an application of the GMsFEM to space-time heterogeneous problems following [105].
